Technical & Community Roadmap

Our development team is comprised of community members volunteering their time to execute this roadmap. Ideas are shared openly among the community and strategy is determined through consensus of the development team.

2018 Goals:

Q1:

  • On-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services.
  • Implementing NewYorkCoin wallet updates:
    • Updating newyorkc-qt wallet code to remove unnecessary alert systems.
    • Removing errant code lines which inadvertently trigger anti-virus alarms.
  • Auditing current NewYorkCoin source code:

Q2 / Q3:

  • Continue to on-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services.
  • Building a lightweight wallet to co-exist with the full node, eg electrum.
  • Constructing a NewYorkCoin inflation-reduction plan in order to balance the need to maintain zero or near-zero transaction fees while adequately incentivizing miners to solve blocks on the NewYorkCoin blockchain.
  • Performing NewYorkCoin blockchain threat analysis and developing patches to improve resistance to 51% attacks, such as:
    These changes, which have been deemed necessary by the development team for the longevity and security of NYCoin, will require a hard fork in the near future.
