Roadmap Timeline

Our development team is comprised of community members volunteering their time to execute this roadmap. Ideas are shared openly among the community and strategy is determined through consensus of the development team. We will continue to on-board merchants and activly look for viable exchanges to get listed on.



2018

Q1

  • On-board merchants to accept NYC for goods and services
  • Audit current source code
  • Implement wallet updates:
    • Update newyorkc-qt wallet code to remove unnecessary alert systems
    • Remove errant code lines which inadvertently trigger anti-virus alarms


Q2

  • Build a lightweight wallet, eg electrum
  • Construct an inflation-reduction plan


Q3

These changes, which have been deemed necessary by the Development Team for the longevity and security of NYC, will require a hard fork in the near future



Q4

  • NewYorkCoin hard fork took place on October 28th. With this hard fork, triggered on block 4,800,000 the following was implemented:
    • The old Kimito Gravity Well was replaced by Digishield as a Difficulty Algorythm: Digishield adjusts the difficulty on the chain for finding new blocks in a better way to maintain the 30 second block time
    • Merged Mining (AuxPoW): allows mining pools to mine NYCoin together with other coins on their mining pool infrastructure


2019

Q1

  • Explore atomic swap on-chain capabilities on mainet


Q2

  • Launch new Community website
  • Partner with existing and future altcoin merchant payment solutions to ease NYC adoption friction


Q3

  • Explore proprietary merchant integration solution
  • Addition of Community hosted mining pool


Q4

  • Update NYC source code to introduce: SegWit and support for Lightning Network
